Demand forecasting
Q. What are the Authority's views on the use of internal demand forecasting methods for the purpose of compiling stress test results, such as use of fewer nodes or different definitions of day / night periods, if these differ from those set out in the guidance notes?
A. We consider it acceptable for participants to use internal forecasting methods for the purpose of compiling stress test results, provided they are consistent with the guidance published by the Authority under clause 13.236D of the Code.
In relation to the specific question about demand forecasts, we consider it acceptable for participants to use fewer nodes and different definitions of day/night as these are contemplated within the current guidance issued under clause 13.236D.
