Dispatch-capable load station approvals
A purchaser may apply to the system operator under schedule 13.8 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code), to become a ‘dispatch-capable load station’ (DCLS).
Dispatchable Demand is an optional regime that allows wholesale electricity purchasers to participate in the spot market in a similar way to generators and therefore respond more efficiently to wholesale market conditions. It allows a purchaser to elect to subject some or all of its load to dispatch. This means it will receive dispatch instructions from the system operator during directing how much electricity to use.
