Tariff data- what electricity plans are available to each consumer
Tariff data are the pricing plans from each electricity company. Each company will have a number of different pricing plans that suit different types of consumers. Retailers are required to provide their generally available retail tariff plans to any person who requests them.
Many retailers have their generally available tariffs available on their websites. If you cannot find them there, you can request it directly from the retailer and the retailer must provide it to you.
The retailer must provide their generally available tariffs within 5 business days. A generally available tariff plan is defined in Part 1 of the Code.
If you wanted to request the tariff data in a different format, this will be by agreement between you and the retailer. The retailer can impose a reasonable charge for this. In order to support the standardised exchange of data, we have developed electricity information exchange protocol (EIEP) 14, a voluntary format that retailers can use when providing tariff information. The voluntary format is available on the EIEP webpage.
