The first review was of the electricity price forecasts used to calculate an annual cost for ranking on Powerswitch. We found that the price forecasts used do not systematically favour Flick, and over the period studied a consumer is likely to have paid less for their electricity than Powerswitch projected.

The second review was of the process that converts electricity price forecasts into an annual cost estimate on Powerswitch. We found two errors which could have influenced Flick’s ranking for some consumers. Consumer New Zealand (which operates Powerswitch) corrected these errors in May 2016.
