    The system operator recommends that the causer of the 1 March 2022 under-frequency event was Genesis Energy Limited and the causer of the 5 May 2022 under-frequency event Meridian Energy Limited. The Authority’s draft determinations agree with the system operator’s recommendations.     The Authority received reports from the system operator on the 13 and 14 December 2018 under-frequency events. The Authority’s draft determinations are that:

    1. Genesis Energy Limited, is the causer of the first under-frequency event on 13 December 2018 at 2.25 pm
    2. Transpower New Zealand Limited, as the grid owner, is the causer of the under-frequency event on 14 December 2018 at 12.20 pm.

    Any submissions received on this consultation will be considered by the Authority before it makes a final determination of causer the event.
