25 May – 15 Sep 2015
On 25 May 2015, Vector requested an exemption relating to Transpower’s application of clauses 8 to 26 of the TPM.
Various components of the North Auckland and Northland (NAaN) grid upgrade project are classified as connection assets under these clauses. The request sought to have those components treated as interconnection assets for a period from 25 May 2013 until the necessary wash-ups are complete. Vector’s request is similar to, but is a different request from, Transpower’s request in 2013.
The Authority declined Vector’s request because it did not satisfy the requirements in section 11(2) of the Electricity Industry Act for granting exemptions.
