Miscellaneous Code Amendments
Closed
13 Mar – 13 Apr 2012
The Authority is proposing 4 substantive amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) in order to clarify certain obligations.
The 4 proposed amendments are to:
- the definition of “retailer” in Part 1 of the Code, to ensure that each relevant ICP has a clearly identified retailer for the purposes of the Customer Compensation Scheme;
- clause 14.36 of the Code, to clarify the process and timing for the Clearing Manager (CM) to issue invoices;
- clause 15.15(b) of the Code, to address an issue relating to the notification of the Reconciliation Manager (RM) of points of connection to the grid that are supplied from alternative points of connection; and
- clause 15.17(c) of the Code, to address an issue relating to the timing for the RM to notify reconciliation participants of trading periods that have been affected by an outage constraint.
The Authority is also proposing the correction of a number of minor and typographical amendments, which are intended to be included in the same Code amendment. These amendments are technical and non-controversial so under section 39(3) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (Act) the Authority is not required to prepare and publicise a regulatory statement for, or consult on, these proposed amendments. The proposed minor and typographical amendments are included in this paper for completeness only.
