Sapere cost benefit analysis of distributed energy resources webinar recording
23 Aug 2021
Sapere was commissioned by the Authority to do a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) of distributed energy resources (DER) in New Zealand. Sapere estimated that if DER were to realise its potential, the net benefit from 2021 to 2050 is expected to be $6.9 billion in net present value. The CBA model is available below.
The CBA accompanies the discussion paper “Updating regulatory settings for distribution networks” recently released by the Authority.
On 30 August, Sapere gave a presentation on the CBA via Zoom. The webinar provided more information about the analysis and the assumptions used to determine the net impacts of DER in New Zealand.
