Consultations

This is a short paper to consult with interested parties on a further amendment to Part 6 of the Code and follows the consultation paper published in October 2019 on the topic of hosting capacity in low voltage networks.

Having considered submissions on the October 2019 consultation paper, the Authority considers that a 5-year time period to end date the relevant clauses related to power quality modes and the maximum export power should be included. This would incentivise local distributors and other industry parties (eg those that design and install small-scale distributed generation systems for investors) to develop innovative new approaches to managing network congestion and enhancing hosting capacity.

This is part of our Open Networks development programme.

Note that the consultation period is for two weeks only and closes at 5pm on Tuesday, 1 September 2020.

In September 2018 we published an issues paper “Integrating hosting capacity into Part 6 of the Code on low voltage networks”, submissions closed in November 2018.

On the 5th August 2019, we published a decisions paper stating our intention to amend Part 6 of the Code, and that we would consult on the proposed amendment.

We have now published the Code amendment consultation paper to integrate hosting capacity into the Part 1A application process, detailed in Part 1A of Schedule 6.1 of the Code.
