Enabling Mass Participation
Substantial benefits for New Zealand electricity consumers.
Evolving technologies and new business models will deliver substantial benefits for New Zealand electricity consumers. Together, these changes will lead to more participation in the electricity industry, which will promote competition and choice, and deliver significant reliability benefits to consumers.
This project focuses on identifying inefficient regulatory barriers to competition and innovation in technology and business models that are not being considered elsewhere on the Authority’s work programme.
We published a decision paper and next steps in November 2017.
