    We have released a consultation paper on Data and data exchanges for market transactions. We want to make sure data and data exchange arrangements continue to promote the competitive, reliable and efficient operation of the electricity industry.

    We expect new technologies and business models will lead to an increase in data collection and transactions in the electricity sector. It is important that the data systems in the electricity sector can cope with this change, as otherwise there would likely be inefficient barriers to the uptake of new technologies and business models, which would harm consumers.
