100% Renewable electricity supply issues paper released

The Electricity Authority is focused on ensuring future market settings support reliable and affordable electricity.

The Authority’s Market Development Advisory Group (MDAG) has published an issues discussion paper for consultation as the first stage of its 100% renewable electricity supply project. The paper discusses the key issues with the current wholesale electricity market that should be explored to enable a shift to 100% renewable electricity supply.

The issues discussion paper and accompanying papers are available on our website. The consultation closes on Tuesday 15 March 2022.

The MDAG will hold two identical workshops to brief stakeholders on the paper and answer questions. These workshops will both be held via Zoom on Thursday 17 February 2022 at 10am and 2pm. If you are interested in attending a workshop, please contact mdag@ea.govt.nz.
