Transpower is currently developing a proposed Transmission Pricing Methodology (TPM) which will be submitted to the Authority by the end of June 2021.
While Transpower has engaged extensively with its stakeholders throughout the development of its proposed TPM, the Authority will also be encouraging feedback and submissions in a formal consultation process once the Authority’s Board has approved the TPM for consultation.
The Authority is aware that some stakeholders are questioning whether there will be further consultation on the TPM. The Authority wants to assure stakeholders that we expect to consult in late-2021 and that they will have an opportunity to submit on any aspect of the proposed TPM developed by Transpower.
The Authority places a high value on consultation with stakeholders and the TPM consultation process will be no different. We intend to gather valuable information from as broad a stakeholder community as possible.

Update on changes to the Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) rental calculation
|
|
In keeping with the Authority’s objective to maintain a market that generates the best outcomes for consumers, the Authority will be pausing minor operational enhancements to the FTR market, including changes to the FTR rental calculation.
This is because of issues raised during the consultation period that warrant further investigation.
The Authority has written to affected parties and a copy of that letter is available on the Authority’s website.
