Final determinations of who caused the December 2018 under-frequency events
We have published our final determinations that:
  • Genesis Energy Limited is the causer of the under-frequency event on 13 December 2018 at 2.25 pm
  • Transpower New Zealand Limited, as the grid owner, is the causer of the under-frequency event on 14 December 2018 at 12.20 pm.
An under-frequency event is when the frequency falls below 49.25 Hz. Further details about the final determinations are available on our website.

MDAG meeting papers published

We have published papers from the Market Development Advisory Group (MDAG) meeting on 30 July 2019. The MDAG focussed on progressing work on the pivotal aspect of the Review of spot market trading conduct provisions project, and discussed whether MDAG should have written operating procedures.

We have also published the minutes from the MDAG meeting held on 19 June 2019.

Please check that all information is up-to-date including contact names and details that may have changed. All changes and updates to the participants register may be directed in the first instance to compliance@ea.govt.nz. 

Failure to register or to update information is an offence under section 31 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010.
