We are releasing a practice note to help distributors and the general public interpret the Distribution Pricing Principles the Authority published on 10 June 2019. The principles seek to encourage efficient use of distribution networks. Efficient use of distribution networks will support the transition to a low-emissions economy at the least cost to consumers. The Distribution Pricing Principles also align with the Authority’s effort to promote efficient use of the transmission grid.
We have also published a document describing pricing scorecards that we will use to assess distributors’ pricing methodologies and plans. The scorecards are a basis for regular, constructive engagement with distributors on their price reform aspirations, efforts, and roadblocks.
We will update the practice note and scorecards from time-to-time to reflect evolving practice, external feedback and the Authority’s monitoring.
