Decision published: Removing constrained on payments for generation ramping down
|
|
|
We have decided to amend the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) to prevent constrained on payments to generators whose plant is dispatched down at their maximum offered ramp rate (ramp-rate constrained generation).
|

Stakeholder briefing: Review of official conservation campaigns and new SOSFIP – 4 July 2019
|
|
The Electricity Authority and Transpower are jointly hosting a briefing on the changes related to settings for official conservation campaigns and the new Security of Supply Forecasting and Information Policy (SOSFIP).
The briefing is an opportunity for stakeholders to hear from the project teams, better understand the contents of the two decision papers and see examples of the new security of supply reporting framework.

Clarification of audit requirements
|
|
We have received feedback that there is some confusion regarding the Authority’s expectations and Code requirements associated with the participant audit regime. The participant audit regime is the audit of participants under Parts 10, 11, 15 and 16A of the Code.
We have published a memo to clarify the areas that have caused confusion. This memo covers the following topics:
- Switching: Average daily consumption in non-half hour (NHH) switch completion files
- Distributed Unmetered Load (DUML): Tracking of load changes
- Audit regime: Treatment of third party agent audits
- Audit regime: Application of future risk rating to next audit date decision
- Audit regime: Audit review timeframes.

Reminder: Type B industrial co-generator station application – comments due today
|
|
On 14 May 2019 we announced that the Fonterra Todd Co-generation Joint Venture submitted an application for the Whareroa industrial co-generating station to be approved as a Type B industrial co-generating station. We are assessing the application in accordance with Schedule 13.4 of the Code.
Any comments on the application should be sent to Market Operations by 5pm today, Tuesday, 25 June 2019.

Nominations for MDAG membership due today

We are calling for nominations for five members to join the Market Development Advisory Group (MDAG), because the membership terms for five current members will soon end.
More information about the MDAG, including the role of an MDAG member, and the charter and terms of reference for the advisory groups, is available on our website.
