On 30 April 2019 we released a consultation paper on ways we can make it easier for customers to share their historic consumption data with organisations they trust.

Anyone with an interest is invited to a roundtable session on the three proposed initiatives in late May. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and get a better understanding of what is proposed.

This session will also give people the opportunity to hear from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner on how such innovation is consistent with the Privacy Act.

The Market Development Advisory Group (MDAG) paper on Saves and Win-backs is now available. This recommendations paper is unchanged from the draft released on 12 March 2019 with the MDAG meeting papers (except with minor typographical corrections). The Authority will announce in due course how it intends to respond to the MDAG recommendations.

Quick Wins for Increasing Access to Electricity Services

We are consulting on proposed steps to make it easier for electricity consumers to share their historical consumption data with organisations they trust. This is part of our Additional Consumer Choice of Electricity Services (ACCES) project, which seeks to enable greater consumer uptake of electricity services.
