Call for nominations for Standing Data Formats Group

We are calling for nominations for one trader member and one metering equipment provider member to join the Standing Data Formats Group (SDFG). The SDFG provides independent advice to the Authority on information exchange protocols between:

  • participants and the market operation service providers
  • participants and consumers
  • participants and third party providers. 

The group is currently advising on the method of transfer of notifications for EIEP5A planned outages and a proposal to mandate one reporting methodology for distributor billing for EIEP1.

We will appoint the successful nominees in March 2019 for an expected term of three years.

Please use the online form to submit nominations and accompanying documents. Nominations close at 5 pm on Tuesday, 26 February.

New members for the Innovation and Participation Advisory Group

The Authority has appointed Professor Rosalind Archer and Roxanne Salton to be new members of the Innovation and Participation Advisory Group (IPAG) for terms ending 30 September 2020. Their appointments follow the resignations of Jennifer Cherrington-Mowat and Rod Snodgrass. 

Rosalind is the Head of the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Auckland. Roxanne is Head of Digital Strategy and Delivery at Mercury NZ Limited.

Current consultations

More efficient distribution prices consultation

We are reviewing the principles for distribution pricing to clarify our expectation that the price anyone pays reflects the costs of the electricity distribution service they are getting.

Proposal to amend requirement for advisory group Chairs to be independent

We are consulting on a proposal to relax the requirement for advisory group Chairs to be independent. The consultation proposes minor changes to the Charter for advisory groups and the Terms of reference for the Security and Reliability Council and other advisory groups.
