We have published a consultation paper on our proposed connection and electrical connection guidelines. The guidelines discuss the process and Code requirements for connecting a point of connection (POC) to a network, and the subsequent electrical connection of the POC.

Consultation on proposed amendments to enable the system operator’s Dispatch Service Enhancement project
We have published a consultation paper on proposed amendments to the Code and the Approved Systems Document that would enable the system operator’s Dispatch Service Enhancement (DSE) project.
The proposed amendments to the Approved Systems Document would allow for the current GENCO software to be replaced as the approved system used to issue electronic dispatch instructions. We propose GENCO would cease to be an approved system on 31 December 2020. We also propose additional amendments to Part 13 of the Code that would increase the benefits from adopting new communication protocols for issuing electronic dispatch instructions.
We consider these amendments would promote competition, reliability and efficiency in the dispatch service.
The consultation paper is available on our website. Submissions on the paper close on Tuesday, 22 May.
We have been considering submissions on our August 2017 real-time pricing (RTP) proposal, with the assistance of the system operator.
The Authority and the system operator are hosting a public briefing to provide interested parties with a project update. We will also share thinking on our joint investigation into some aspects of the RTP proposal.
The public briefing will be held on Tuesday, 8 May between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm at the Intercontinental Hotel, Wellington. For more details and to register please visit our website.

We’re calling for nominations for a member of the Innovation and Participation Advisory Group (IPAG).
In addition to the skills and experience generally required of IPAG members, the Authority is particularly interested in nominations from people with experience in representing household consumer perspectives.
The Authority is aiming to appoint a new member to the IPAG in June 2018, for a term ending in September 2019.
More details, including the nomination form, charter, and terms of reference, are available on our website.
Review of two aspects of the customer compensation scheme – ending today
We’re consulting on our review of two aspects of the customer compensation scheme (CCS). The aspects are: addressing possible inefficiencies in how the CCS handles customer switching during conservation campaigns; and whether the minimum weekly amount of the default compensation scheme should be calculated annually.
