Decision paper published: 2017 operational review of register content codes

We have published a decision paper and summary of submissions, which set out our decision to improve the use of register content codes and the associated period of availability. Register content codes describe the physical and programmed set-up of meter channels.

The improvements will be achieved by implementing a modified version of Option D in our September 2017 consultation paper entitled Register content codes – 2017 operational review. Our decision takes into account views from submitters.

What’s My Number (WMN) Campaign: April 2018

On 15 April 2018 we will launch the April WMN campaign, which will run for two weeks. Campaign advertising will involve the following media channels:

  • television
  • digital (online)
  • public relations
  • non-digital, e.g. magazines.

We will continue to work with our partner Consumer NZ.

Planning for the winter 2018 campaign is under way, and we will advise the launch date and duration of the campaign closer to the time.

Review of two aspects of the customer compensation scheme

We’re consulting on our review of two aspects of the customer compensation scheme (CCS). The aspects are: addressing possible inefficiencies in how the CCS handles customer switching during conservation campaigns; and whether the minimum weekly amount of the default compensation scheme should be calculated annually.

Started: 20/02/2018; Ending: 10/04/2018 5pm
