Extended reserve project update

We are working with NZX as extended reserve manager and Transpower as system operator on a joint project to implement an extended reserve scheme.

In August 2017, the extended reserve manager advised stakeholders that because of a technical issue there would be a delay in issuing a draft Extended Reserve Procurement Schedule for consultation.

We have now decided to pause the project while we assess options for reliably delivering the scheme.

We are working closely with the extended reserve manager and system operator and will provide a further update in December 2017.

Submissions on real-time pricing consultation published

In August 2017 we consulted on a proposal to settle spot market prices in real-time. This involved the design of a dispatch-based, real-time pricing option to deliver more certainty, accuracy and efficiency.

The submissions are available on our website.
