Approval of type B industrial co-generator station

We have approved an application from Carter Holt Harvey Pulp & Paper Ltd (CHH) for the co-generator at its Kinleith site to be classed as a type B industrial co-generating station. We followed the process outlined in Schedule 13.4 of the Code before approving the application.

The system operator confirmed that:

  • the system operator’s ability to meet the principal performance obligations (PPOs) will not be affected by our approval of CHH's single 41 MVA unit at the Kinleith Pulp and Paper Mill as a type B co-generator
  • there do not appear to be any cumulative effects, by granting the application, of all approvals granted under Schedule 13.4 to date, on the system operator’s ability to meet the PPOs.

The approval takes effect from 5 November 2015.

The register of approved industrial co-generating stations is available on our website.
