Published: Potential for ASX futures to offset spot market wholesale prudential requirements information paper
The Hedge Market Development project is a high priority project in our 2014/15 and 2015/16 work programmes, which supports our statutory objective by encouraging competition in both the wholesale and retail markets.
As part of this project we are evaluating whether ASX futures can offset energy market wholesale prudential security requirements.
Published: Code Review Programme 2015—consultation paper
We are proposing to make a number of discrete amendments to various parts of the Code. The proposed amendments do not generally relate to each other, and do not warrant separate consultation processes. We have therefore decided to progress them together as one “omnibus” Code amendment, in one consultation paper.
The consultation paper also includes an appendix listing ‘minor’ amendments that we also intend to make at the same time as the more substantive proposed amendments on which we are consulting.
The consultation period for this proposal runs from Tuesday, 30 June 2015 until 5pm on Friday, 14 August 2015.
Submissions published: Competition and Efficiency on Secondary Networks issues and options paper
We have published submissions on the Retail Advisory Group (RAG) paper, which looked at issues, problems and options to promote competition and efficiency on secondary networks. The RAG will use the feedback from these submissions to develop advice and recommendations to the Authority Board on these arrangements.
Information plays an important part in building market confidence and strength.
To assist interested parties in tracking market development, the Authority publishes NZ electricity hedge contracts as a standard section of its weekly Market Brief.
