Appointment of members to the Security and Reliability Council

We are pleased to announce the appointment of three members to the Security and Reliability Council (SRC). Vince Hawksworth and Erik Westergaard have been reappointed to the Council and will be joined by new member Nigel Barbour. As the Chief Executive of Powerco, a member of the Boards of the Electricity Networks Association and the Gas Industry Company, and a former Transpower employee, Mr Barbour brings extensive experience of network businesses to the SRC.

The three members have been appointed for three year terms expiring 31 March 2018.

The SRC provides independent advice to the Authority on reliability of supply issues and on the performance of the electricity system and the system operator. The SRC comprises senior members of the New Zealand electricity industry, including consumers.
