New report released on the Authority’s EMI website: Switching summary
The Authority’s Electricity Market Information (EMI) website (www.emi.ea.govt.nz) provides access to data, market performance metrics, and analytical tools. The Authority is continuing to refine the EMI website, and to add new content. A new report is now available that allows users to look at the impact of consumer switching through time, in various regions, and market segments (available for dates from September 2013). As with other retail reports, the Authority releases each month’s statistics after the 10th business day of the following month.

Reports on the stress test results for the July–September 2014 quarter have been published.
The stress testing regime (referred to in the Code as Spot Price Risk Disclosure) requires certain participants in the wholesale electricity market to apply a set of standard stress tests to their market position. These participants also need to report the results to their respective Boards and to an independent registrar appointed by the Authority.
Questions about the reports or the stress tests can be directed to info@ea.govt.nz. Please include 'stress test' in the subject line.
Information plays an important part in building market confidence and strength.
To assist interested parties in tracking market development, the Authority publishes NZ electricity hedge contracts as a standard section of its weekly Market Brief.
