Centralised Dataset (CDS)


The Authority will have the next centralised dataset (CDS) available by early November 2013. This CDS will not be published on a DVD as in the past, but instead will be available for download from the Authority’s SFTP server. Furthermore, CDS users should be aware that this CDS will be the last one to be published in its current format.

Prosecution policy


As the Authority has a prosecution function, it is required to have a publicly available prosecution policy. The Authority’s Prosecution Policy sets out how the Authority will exercise its discretion in relation to monitoring, investigating and enforcing compliance with the Electricity Act 2010 (“Act”), and the regulations made under the Act.

The Prosecution Policy is subject to, and must be read in conjunction with the Solicitor-General’s Prosecution Guidelines (pdf).

The Authority's policies and procedures relating to compliance with the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 are not in the Prosecution Policy, but are set out in the Authority's Operating Procedures for processing alleged breaches of the Code.

Improving transparency of consumers’ electricity charges


The Authority has published a summary of submissions on the Retail Advisory Group’s discussion paper on improving transparency of consumers’ electricity charges.

Consultation on draft decision to decline TPM exemption request


The Authority is holding a short consultation on its draft decision to decline a TPM exemption request from Transpower. The Authority proposes to decline the application on the basis that it does not satisfy the requirements in section 11(2) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (Act) for granting exemptions. Part 10 implementation: amended guidelines for reconciliation participant and distributor audits


The Authority is seeking feedback on the proposed amendments to the guidelines for reconciliation participant and distributor audits. Started: 27/08/13; Ending: 08/10/13, 5pm.

Transmission pricing methodology: cost benefit analysis working paper


In seeking feedback on its proposed approach to cost benefit analysis of the TPM proposal, the Authority has published a working paper discussing best practice to economic cost benefit studies and outlining the proposed methodology for the cost benefit analysis in the second issues paper.   Started: 03/09/2013; Ending: 15/10/2013 5pm

2014/15 Appropriations, Authority Work Programme and EECA Work Programme


The Electricity Authority (Authority) and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) have released a joint consultation paper on the proposed 2014/15 annual appropriations and their respective work programmes. Started: 10/09/2013; Ending: 22/10/2013 5pm
