Locational Price Risk Technical Group membership


In March the Authority called for nominations for up to eight members of the Locational Price Risk Technical Group (LPRTG), due to the expiry of existing members’ terms.

Six nominations were received and appointed. 

Electricity Authority decides not to invoke minor pricing error


On 30 April 2013, the pricing manager (NZX) informed the Authority of a falsely detected metering situation for trading periods 06:00 to 23:30 on 28 April 2013. Authority staff considered the cost of claiming a pricing error, but did not proceed due to its low estimated impact, and with the cost of investigating it likely to exceed the market impact.

The Authority has met with NZX to discuss this matter and the cause of the error has been identified and resolved

Options for increasing consumers propensity to compare and switch retailers


The Retail Advisory Group is considering options for promoting retail competition by increasing consumers’ propensity to compare and switch retailers. The project’s purpose is to identify actions the Authority might take after 30 April 2014 to increase consumers’ propensity to compare and switch retailers. Starting: 9/4/2013. Ending: 4/6/2013, 5pm.

Review of domestic contracting arrangements: issues paper


The Retail Advisory Group is seeking feedback on issues relating to the operational effectiveness of the domestic contracting arrangements, so it can identify specific issues to be addressed. Starting: 16/4/2013. Ending: 11/6/2013, 5pm.
