The Electricity Governance Regulations 2003
The Electricity Governance Regulations 2003 (Regulations) were revoked from 1 November 2010 by the Electricity Industry Act 2010. They set out in detail some of the obligations and responsibilities of the Commission, and included provisions related to service provider contracts, undesirable trading situations, Rule breaches and exemptions, and the establishment and proceedings of the Rulings Panel.

The Electricity (Low Fixed Charge Tariff Option for Domestic Consumers) Regulations 2004 and the Electricity Governance (Connection of Distributed Generation) Regulations 2007
The Electricity Governance (Connection of Distributed Generation) Regulations 2007 were revoked from 1 November 2010 by the Electricity Industry Act 2010. The Commission is also responsible for monitoring compliance, investigating alleged breaches, and if necessary, taking enforcement action in relation to:
- the Electricity (Low Fixed Charge Tariff Option for Domestic Consumers) Regulations 2004(external link); and
- the Electricity Governance (Connection of Distributed Generation) Regulations 2007 - obsolete(external link)
Electricity (Levy of Industry Participants) Regulations 2005
The Electricity (Levy Industry Participants) Regulations 2005 came into force on 21 April 2005 and impose a levy on electricity generators, wholesale purchasers, and electricity distributors (including Transpower) for the costs of the Commission performing its functions, powers, and duties.
These regulations were amended from 1 May 2008 by the Electricity (Levy of Industry Participants) Amendment Regulations 2008(external link)
Electricity Governance (Security of Supply) Regulations 2008
These regulations were revoked from 1 November 2010 by the Electricity Industry Act 2010. The purpose of these regulations was to provide for the management and co-ordination of outages for security of electricity supply purposes.
